Critique of photographs

Cindy Sherman was born in New Jersey, 1954. She wasn't really interested in art until her years in college. As a child, she thought of becoming a courtroom artist, or a boardwalk caricaturist. The first portrait of Cindy I've chosen portrays her as a housewife, possibly making dinner, or cleaning.

The next one, is a downward view portrait of Cindy lying on the floor. She has makeup on, and is looking away from the camera. The portrait of Cindy as a housewife uses tone and lighting to give the photo a sort of color while keeping it black and white. The other photo uses color, as well as texture, making the photo still, and detailed. I think the purpose of both photos is to comment on the world's view of women and wives. The first photo relates to me deeply because it gives a sort of "in the moment" style. The other one shows me a subtle way of giving the whole photo the same color and having everything relate back to that same color.
